I had gone outside that day not really expecting the hawks to come. I had been working on geraniums and looking over the terraces. I happened to look up and lo and behold they were there---very near the patio and the terraces and I ran into the house and got my Digital Rebel XT cam with the telephoto lense and dashed outside. They were there and stayed around a short time. Thus the below photos. I hope you like them. It was a thrill to spend a moment with them and photograph their beautiful flights.----BT, February 2, 2010.

The hawk, hanging in the air;

 You know he owns it.

It is his lair, his home; and no one elses, and he soars

 Over it, forever searching, hunting,

 And exploring.

He is king of the air.

 The Monarch glides!

The hawks were soaring together on the balmy thermals--a beautiful sight to behold

Upon Seeing Hawks

 The hawk pair soars
Far above the land.
I wish I could see what they see,
Above, their wings barely moving
As the thermal breezes cause them
To rise.
Far, far above they rise,
Until they can barely be seen.

We here on Earth can learn
Of their beauty and gracefulness.
If we see them, and look at them
And admire them. And love them.

 The hawk pair soars
Far above the land.
I wish I could see what they see.
